Blessed Gérard’s Community Development Centre (Sewing School)

is full once again. Miss Thulile Nzuza has excelled herself in her role as the teacher, maintaining a very high standard of sewing. During 1997 twelve ladies passed through our course. They began as unemployed people, with no means to earn an income. By the end of the year they had progressed from not knowing anything about being a seamstress, to being able to make lined skirts and jackets for ladies and trousers and collar shirts for men, as well as school uniforms, toddlers clothes and many other items which would be easy to market. We wish all the "graduates" the very best for the future.
