31 August - 3 September 2010: Father Gérard represents Blessed Gérard's Hospice at the Annual Conference and AGM of the Hospice Palliative Care Association of South Africa (HPCA) in Sibaya/Umhlanga Rocks.
3 September 2010: SAPPI presented us a cheque as their contribution to our work.

SAPPI wrote in their magazine "blueprint":

“We are proud of our association with Blessed Gerard’s Care Centre”, said Sappi Tugela Mill General Manager, Louis Kruyshaar as he presented Father Gerhard with a cheque for R80 000.00. “The work you do in the community in combating and fighting HIV and AIDS is highly commendable. Not only are you offering an invaluable service to our community but the assistance you give our mill with regards to HAART readiness training to our clinic staff, goes a long way in making sure our own employees and contractors are able to adhere to the anti retroviral treatments. We look forward to a long and sustainable relationship with you and wish you the very best with your work ahead."
6 September 2010: The new General Manager of Blessed Gérard's Care Centre, Mr. Sven Anderson, commences his duties today. As a special gesture Father Gérard gave him the first week of his employment special leave for his honeymoon hence he just got married on 28th August 2010. Congratulations and wholeheartedly welcome!
11 September 2010: Sr. Edith Zulu O.S.B. graduated as "Early Childhood Educator". Congratulations, Sister! Well done! (The date on the camera was wrongly set!)
14 - 30 September 2010: 10th anniversary of the First Aid Duty in the Vatican's Basilicas in Rome in the Holy Year 2000
19 September 2010: Sunday outing with Children of Blessed Gérard's Children's Home to Golden Hours playground in Durban.
22 September 2010: Mrs. Carolyn Nunn attended the St. Mary’s Hospital Nursing College Graduation of 2010. It took place at the Pinetown Civic Hall and started at 11.00. Dr. Ross the CEO of St Mary’s was the Master of Ceremonies and Dr. Andrew Mumgherera the Guest Speaker. Two of our Bursary Recipients’ graduated Zandile Thobile Mkhwamubi gained a Distinction in Theory Paper 2 and is now a Registered Professional Nurse and Sthembile Promise Masuku gained a Distinction in Theory and is now an Enrolled Nurse. We were entertained by the St. Mary’s Hospital Choir of which two of our current Bursary recipients’ are members, Ms Lorraine Mbatha and Ms Sibongakonke Xulu. The two items they sang were greatly appreciated by the audience of family friends and students. The awards were presented to the graduates by Councillor Nkosi Dimba who presented the Ethekwini Municipality Awards with Citations, Mrs Mncadi, Mrs F Ngcobo and Mrs ZPMlaba presented the Hospital Awards and Citations. The Meaning of the Lamp was presented by Mrs ME Mncadi. The ceremony ended with the St. Mary’s Hospital Choir singing the National Anthem.
24 September 2010: Children of Blessed Gérard's Children's Home at Umhlanga Ridge.
25 September 2010: Our founder members Dr. Paul and Sr. Thuli Thabethe celebrate their 40th wedding anniversary. Father Gérard is the main celebrant at the festive Holy Mass in St. Benedict's Church in Sundumbili.
