Sappi shows it cares for Mandini

At a breakfast function held in Mandini on Tuesday, 9 July 2002, six non-profit organisations were the beneficiaries of sponsorships in excess of R125 000.

The Sappi-sponsored breakfast wastended by local businessmen from the Mandini and Isithebe areas. One of the highlights of the event was a presentation by Anglo-American Chairman's Fund chairman, Clem Sunter, who commended the representatives of the organisations on their commitment to the community.

... the Brotherhood of Blessed Gérard, which runs a hospice centre in Mandini, received a cheque to the value of R10 000 to assist with the extension of their hospice facility, and the building of an orphanage. ...

Ms Jackson concluded by saying that she was delighted that Sappi was able to assist these organisations in their endeavours and looked forward to becoming involved in future community projects such as these.
